Braided star bread with nutella
Braided star bread filled with nutella is a pull apart bread. This braided nutella bread is a classic show stopper. The cinnamon brown sugar caramalizes and yields a nice crunchy top. Every nook and corner of house gets filled with the aroma of this cinnamon nutella braided bread.
Ingredients
All purpose flour 2 &1/2 cup
Instant yeast 2 tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Milk powder 2 tbsp
Cream 5 tsp
Warm milk 3/4 cup
Olive oil 1 tbsp
Nutella 3 tbsp
Brown sugar + cinnamon 3 tsp
Temperature 180° C
Baking time 35 minutes
Method
- Mix all purpose flour , sugar , salt , milk powder, yeast in a bowl.
- Add cream to it.
- Add warm milk and knead the dough for 7-8 minutes.
- Add olive oil and knead for another 2-3 minutes.
- Keep the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with cling film.
- Keep it in a warm place to proof.
- Once the dough is doubled , gently punch the dough and divide it into four equal parts.
- Roll out each part into a circle of 8" diameter.
- Place one circle on a baking tray lined with baking sheet .
- Spread one tbsp nutella on it . Sprinkle one tsp of cinnamon and brown sugar mix on it.
- Cover this circle with second circle and repeat STEP 10.
- Cover this with third circle and repeat step 10.
- Cover this with fourth circle .
- Place a small circular cookie cutter / bowl in the center.
- Firstly divide the circle into four parts marking at 3,6,9 and 12 o'clock , starting from the cutter to the edge, through all layers.
- Divide each quarter into 4 parts.
- Twist each part in outward direction once and pinch the edges.
- Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mix on top and leave it aside for second rise.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Brush milk on the bread .
- Bake the risen bread in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
- Remove the bread from oven and allow it to cool completely.
Tips
- It is better to warm the nutella , it will spread with ease without damaging the delicate layers .
