Orange cinnamon butterflake rolls
Soft , citrusy rolls with a buttery cinnamon filling and orange glaze on top are heavenly... These beautiful butterflake rolls are rich, buttery , loaded with flavors and easy to make.... when you add the orange glaze on top of warm rolls, the flavor and taste is awesome... amazing !!!
Ingredients
For dough:
Flour 2 cups
Milk powder 2 tbsp
Cream 2 tbsp
Sugar 2 tbsp
Yeast 1 & 1/2 tsp
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Salt 1/4 tsp
Warm water 1/2 cup
Butter 2 tbsp
For cinnamon filling:
Butter 3 tbsp
Brown sugar 6 tbsp
cinnamon powder 2 tsp
Almond meal 2 tbsp
For glaze:
Castor sugar 1/2 cup
Orange juice 1/4 cup
Method
- Mix yeast, sugar, salt, milk powder in flour.
- Add warm water , cream, olive oil and knead.
- Add more water ,if required.
- Cover and keep aside for 1 hour for first proofing.
- Meanwhile mix the ingredients mentioned for filling.
- Prepare glaze by mixing sugar and orange juice.
- Once the dough is doubled, punch the dough and roll it into a rectangle.
- Apply 1 tbsp butter on it and fold it like we do for puff pastry .
- Turn it 90 degree and roll.
- Apply one tbsp butter and roll to form a log .
- Divide it into 12 equal parts and shape each into a ball.
- With kitchen scissor, mark four deep parallel cuts.
- Apply cinnamon filling into these grooves generously.
- Place these rolls in greased muffin tin and cover them with cling wrap.
- Preheat the oven to 180 degree C.
- Apply remaining cinnamon filling on top too.
- Bake them in preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Pour orange glaze on warm rolls.
You can increase the amount of sugar in filling as per your taste.
