Almond chocolate twistie - pull apart bread
Rich , buttery chocolate almond twistie heart is a tear and share or pull apart bread. Soft and slightly crunchy edges with chocolate filled center is delicious and kid's favorite. There is nothing like the smell of fresh bread, sizzling chocolate almond spread , filling the air and enticing everyone around. It's incredible and rewarding when it comes out of the oven !!!

All purpose flour 2 &1/2 cup
Instant yeast 1 tsp
Sugar 2 tbsp
Salt 1/2 tsp
Milk powder 2 tbsp
Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Warm milk 3/4 cup
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Chocolate almond spread 6 tbsp
Almond flakes 1/8 cup
For chocolate almond spread , cook 2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1/4 cup chocolate chips, 4 tbsp sugar, 4 tbsp almond meal and 1/2 cup milk. Cook until it thickens.
Temperature 190° C
Baking time 35 minutes
Method
- Mix all purpose flour , sugar , salt , milk powder, yeast in a bowl.
- Add warm milk , vanilla essence and knead the dough for 7-8 minutes.
- Add olive oil and knead for another 2-3 minutes.
- Keep the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with cling film.
- Keep it in a warm place to proof.
- Once the dough is doubled , gently punch the dough and divide it into two equal parts.
- Roll out each part into a circle of 8" diameter and shape it into a heart.
- Place one circle on a baking tray lined with baking sheet .
- Spread chocolate almond spread on it .
- Cover this with second circle.
- Mark virtual vertical line of 1' width on circle along with diameter .
- Mark cuts on both sides of it , starting from the line to the edge, through all layers.
- Twist each part twice and pinch the edges.
- Sprinkle almond flakes on it and leave it aside for second rise, at least for half an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- Brush milk on the bread .
- Bake the risen bread in preheated oven for 35 minutes.
- Remove it from oven and brush melted butter .
- Cover it with kitchen towel and allow it to cool .
- Serve it with chocolate sauce.
