Eggless apple cake with almond caramel sauce
Apple and cinnamon - match made in heaven !!!
You'll need few basic ingredients to make this. This includes all purpose flour, butter, sugar, baking powder, milk, apples, cinnamon powder ..... and sauce is so yum and goes well with any cake and ice creams too.
The batter is whisked , sliced apples are placed over the batter and cinnamon-sugar mix is sprinkled generously on top .... and bake !!!

Ingredients
All purpose flour 2 cups
Castor sugar 1 cup
Baking powder 2 tsp
Butter 50 gm
Milk 1 &1/2 cup
Vanilla essence 1 tsp
Pureed apple 3 tbsp
Apples(sliced) 2
Apples(sliced) 2
Cinnamon powder 1 tsp
Brown sugar 3 tbsp
For almond caramel sauce - Melt 1/4 cup sugar , Stir until melted and is amber colored, caramelized. Add 25 gms butter and 1/2 cup milk . Mix continuously to get lump-free sauce. Add 1 tbsp of almond flour or almond powder. Allow the mixture to boil for another minute . Remove from heat and allow it to cool completely. Your thick , almond caramel sauce is ready !!!
Method
- Preheat oven to 170° C.
- Grease an 8" pan with butter and dust flour.
- Beat butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes.
- Add milk and mix well.
- Add flour , baking powder and essence .
- Mix gently until combined.
- Add pureed apple and mix.
- Pour the batter in the prepare pan.
- Arrange apple slices over batter .
- Mix 1 tsp cinnamon and 3 tbsp sugar and sprinkle on top of apples.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes.
- Once done, allow it to cool.
- Serve it with almond caramel sauce drizzled on it or with vanilla ice cream.

I used 8" cake tin..
