Apple spice cake (Whole wheat flour )



Apple spice cake is an easy to make  cake , with basic ingredients , that's perfect because it's delicate, moist and has tender crumb. A slice of goodness with the delicious balance of aromatic  spices and sweetness of apple . You can serve this cake with vanilla ice cream , caramel sauce or enjoy it plain.





Ingredients


Butter                                             100 gm
Oil                                                    1/4 cup
Whole wheat flour                       1 & 3/4 cup  
Baking soda                                   1 tsp
Brown sugar                                 1 cup
Eggs                                                 3
Milk                                                  75 ml
Vanilla essence                               1 tsp
Nutmeg powder                            1/4 tsp
Cinnamon powder                       1 tsp
Clove powder                                1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder                     1/8 tsp
Ginger powder                              1 tsp
Slices of apple                                to decorate on top
Almond flakes                                2 tbsp
brown sugar  (optional)              to sprinkle on top of batter

You can always adjust the spices according to your preference.
You can substitute almond powder with same quantity of  whole wheat flour.


Method

  • Preheat the oven to 170° C.
  • Prepare an 8*4*4 " pan .Line it with parchment paper.
  • Beat butter until it gets fluffy .
  • Add brown sugar and beat again until fluffy and pale.
  • Add one egg at a time , beating well after each addition.
  • Add vanilla extract and pour oil gradually while continuously beating the mixture on low speed.
  • Add all the spices .
  • Sift flour and baking soda over this mixture and mix gently.
  • Add milk  and fold until everything is mixed well.
  • Pour the batter in prepared tin and arrange the apple slices... I arranged them standing upright dipped halfway in batter.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar and almond flakes .
  • Bake in preheated oven for 50 minutes.
  • Once done, take it out of the tin and allow it to cool .
  • Slice the cake , cling wrap individual slices and refrigerate .
