Mawa cake !!!!




Mawa cake is a delicious Parsi cake flavored with cardamom . If you are in Pune and you have never been to Kayani bakery then you are missing something. The hot selling and flagship product of  Kayani is shrewsbury biscuit. Most delicious biscuit you'll ever eat. Mawa cake is another specialty of this bakery .This melt in mouth cake with Indian flavors is worth trying .... 
I had never thought of trying mawa in cakes . But after eating this , it was difficult to kill the urge to try this out .  It requires extreme courage and will power for a person like me  to not bake this .... I m that typical mithai lover😊 you know.... I prefer eating this cake the next day.....   

            

                                          
Food adulteration is quite common these days  and making mawa at home is a tedious job .  Came across the instant mawa recipe which saved me from doing so much of hard work 😓 ahhhh



It just takes six to seven minutes in microwave to prepare mawa  and only two ingredients are required....  How simple is that ....
 Put one cup of milk powder in a microwave safe bowl and add 200 ml cream  Mix well . Microwave it for 2 minutes and  then take it out ... mix n microwave again for two minutes ...  Mix and microwave again for one minute ... Crumbly mawa is ready ..


 Ingredients

All purpose flour         1 &1/4 cup
Baking powder            1/2 tsp
Sugar                              1 cup
Mawa                             100 gm
Eggs                                2
Milk                                1/3 cup
Butter                             75 gm
Cardamom powder     1/4 tsp
Vanilla essence            1 tsp


Temperature     180°C
Baking time 50-55 minutes
9" loaf tin or 6" round tin

Method


  • Preheat oven to 180°C. 
  • Grease a  tin and line it with parchment paper. 
  • Sieve all purpose flour,  cardamom powder and baking powder. 
  • Beat butter ,  mawa and sugar for at least 5 minutes to get fluffy white batter. 
  • Add one egg at a time and beat well after each addition on medium speed. 
  • Add vanilla essence. 
  • Add sieved dry ingredients and milk alternately in batches . 
  • You can sprinkle almonds or any nuts of your choice.. 
  • Mix well and bake in preheated oven at 180°C for 50-55 min. 
  • Let it cool down completely before slicing. 
  •  Flavors are more intense next day.
